Dalia is a little, ten-year-old girl who lives with her family in a mud hut in the town of Baruamari in Bangladesh. She has a brother, Bidwith, and two sisters, Nupur and Dina. Her father works the land while her mother stays home and cares for the family.

She loves to go to school, and one of her favourite subjects just happens to be reading. It's nice to have something so enjoyable in common. She also likes playing with her doll.
